In this day and age, a lot of us say that nothing is for free. Well, we can still breathe fresh air at no charge. However, with our ever changing world and man's abusive nature to our environment, I am not sure how long we will be able to enjoy breathing fresh air until we start breathing through oxygen tanks. It sounds scary. I felt the same way when someone mentioned that sooner or later we will start drinking purified drinking water in a bottle. However while we still can, we can make a difference by acting as the real steward of this earth by protecting it not just for ourselves but for our children and children's children. They also deserve it.
Our government, private organizations and individuals are working their heads together to make sure that we are leaving a clean earth as our legacy to the next generations. There are several inventors who are making a way in saving what is left of our planet by inventing vehicles such as cars and motorcycles which run on water and air or solar energy. A lot of individuals are also promoting a bicycle ride to work. It is not only good for the environment but it is also a good exercise. Moreover, we can also help our world by using non-disposable products such as eco-friendly diapers and reusing our plastic shopping bags in our next shopping trips. There are also several shopping malls and grocery stores or shops who are promoting the use of eco-friendly bags and are giving discounts to shoppers who are either reusing their plastic shopping bags or using their eco-friendly bags. Another way of protecting our planet is by replacing the incandescent light bulbs in light posts with CFL or LED lights. And lastly, let's not forget to plant trees.
If all of us are doing our share to protect this planet, there will be no after earth or trips to other planets. Remember,this is the only living planet in the whole galaxy.
